Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft Tissue Therapy (STT) is the clinical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of the body's soft tissues—including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. It treats movement dysfunctions, chronic pain, and injuries through targeted, hands-on manual therapy.

STT targets the mechanical and neurological drivers of pain to disrupt tension patterns in the body. By applying precise pressure and stretches, therapists can:

  • Improve Circulation: Increase blood and lymphatic flow to speed up tissue healing.

  • Break Down Scar Tissue: Mobilise stiff or immobile tissues (including post-surgical scars) to restore flexibility.

  • Reduce Nerve Sensitivity: Stimulate fast nerve fibres to block pain signals and reduce muscle spasms.

Rather than following a fixed routine, a STT selects techniques tailored to your specific needs.

Including a a combination of techniques such as :

  • Therapeutic, Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage: Used to alleviate tension and improve circulation.

  • Myofascial Release (MFR): Applies sustained pressure to tight or sticky connective tissues.

  • Muscle Energy Techniques (MET): Uses gentle contractions and stretches to improve the length and strength of muscles.

  • Soft Tissue Release (STR): Stretches specific, tension-heavy muscles through multiple planes of movement.

  •  Neuromuscular techniques (NMT)
